Today, the average dental technician salary range is $22,844 to $58,659 per year. When trying to compare the dental technician salary figure with the annual average ultrasound salary of $34,724 to $78,018 per year, it is lower. However, the salary of every professional can fluctuate and depends on many factors. An ultrasound tech in New York can have a yearly income of $32,681 to $117,446 while dental technicians can earn an annual income of $33,402 to $74,880. The annual salary of dental technicians in Texas is $30,201 to $69,427 which is slightly lower than the salary for sonographers in Texas that has a range of $22,148 to $71,490 per year.

In general, ultrasound technicians earn more money than dental technicians do. However, this does not mean that being a dental technician makes the professional less important. All medical professions whether they have a higher or lower pay, all have specific job descriptions and that is why they also have different salary ranges.

The educational requirement can be accomplished in a shorter period of time, which means that professionals can already start working in as fast as two years.
