Ultrasound technician salary in Georgia just like in the other states in the USA varies because the many different factors affect salary ranges. Currently more and more young professionals and high school graduates are interested in ultrasound careers. The reasons for these include the increasing demand of professional ultrasound technicians and the high salaries. Here is a breakdown of the salary for the various ultrasound tech jobs in Georgia.

Where an ultrasound technician is employed can largely affect the salary range. Generally, a sonographer working in some states earn less than the one working in the other states although they do the same tasks. The national average yearly salary for sonograpyhers in the USA is $74,800. However, the pay scale in Georgia is below the national average salary. In Georgia an ultrasound tech receives the highest income when working in Atlanta, Austell, Lawrenceville, Suwanee and Norcross. The ultrasound sonographers in these regions earn an average income of $73,342 per year. When assigned in hospitals, medical diagnostic centers and physician’s clinics in Fort Gordon a medical sonographer can earn $70,169 on average. In Savannah, ultrasound technicians in Macon receive an average salary of $68,354 while those in Warner Robins earn an average of $65,088 per year. The average annual income for the technicians in Augusta is $61,815 while for the Athens ultrasound sonographers have an average yearly compensation of $60,886. In Albany, an ultrasound technician receives a yearly compensation of $59,429 while the one in Columbus receives an annual average salary of $60,049.

The number of ultrasound schools in Georgia is increasing since the demand for ultrasound professionals is increasing in this region. Although sonographer salary in Georgia is lower than the national average ultrasound salary, it is likely that an ultrasound technician can have a high pay simply because the employment in Georgia is better than many other medical professionals despite the shorter period of required education.
