Ultrasound technician salary is considered one of the highest in the allied health services industry. Although the salaries for sonographers are affected by many factors, it is still considerably higher than salaries of other medical professionals. Because there is an increasing demand for ultrasound professionals today, there is also an increasing number for the new graduates of the. What will be the salary of the new graduates by state in the USA? Here is an overview of the salary that the ultrasound tech could receive by state in the USA.

In general, new graduates of the degree programs of ultrasound technology are given the lowest salary. However, there is variation between the salaries received by ultrasound professionals in different states so a new sonographer has the opportunity to earn similar or even more than those who have long experiences employed in less paying states. One important tip for the new graduates is to look for states that pay sonographers higher than other states.

New York, Pennsylvania, Texas, Florida and California are the states that pay ultrasound technicians higher than the other states. It is estimated that the average sonographer hourly wage in 2011 is ranging from $18 to $25. Ultrasound technician salary in NY is ranging from $20,608 to $82,372 while those who are employed in Texas receive $29,799 to $70,469 per year. The ultrasound salaries in California, Florida and Pennsylvania start from $32,215 to $82,176, $29,748 to $66,328 and $30,410 to $72,002 respectively.

Newly graduate ultrasound technicians should research well in the salaries offered per state so that they will have an idea of what to earn more from their profession. Of course, there are several requirements and prerequisites, which the ultrasound tech has to meet before being able to apply as sonographer and have the competitive salaries they deserve.
