This school is located in Los Angeles, California. Charles Drew University of Medicine and Science provides a Bachelor’s degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) and is duly certified by the Committee on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs to offer such degrees.
Some of the areas covered in the curriculum are anatomy, abdominal sonography, and ultrasound laboratory experience. It is more affordable to enroll in this school with just $468.00 per credit. However, this school is not intended for the fresh graduates from high school since one of the requirements for enrollment is an associate degree course in ultrasound technology.
Seattle University
Located in Seattle Washington, Seattle University has a college named College of Science and Engineering’s Department of Diagnostic Ultrasound, which provides education and training in ultrasound sonography. The bachelor degree program and the school itself are both accredited by CAAHEP.
The bachelor’s degree program has about 181 credits and students are strictly required to have at least 2.5 GPA average to be permitted to graduate as ultrasound technician. Cypress College
Cypress College is located in Cypress, California where it is considered as a four-year academic college. All the three programs in ultrasound technology are offered in this school such as the one-year or less training program, associate degree for two years and the four-year program for bachelor degree. This school is accredited both by CAAHEP and the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
Ferris State University
This university is considered as a public university. Just like Cypress College, it is accredited both by CAAHEP and ARRT. Among the main specialties in the programs offered are obstetric and gynecological ultrasound and abdominal ultrasound. The curriculum has included three clinical internships that are similar to the other sonography schools.
When choosing the best ultrasound technician schools, make sure the schools offer accredited programs that is accredited by CAAHEP and research well with the standard of education and training the school offers and also the tuition fee range.
