The radiologist can also be involved in treating disease because he is a medical doctor. Most of the time, he is responsible in performing interventional procedures such as image-guided procedures for cardiovascular disease treatment. In the US, several radiologist schools are offering the full degree in order to help those who are interested in pursuing the careers.

The radiologist salary , ultrasound tech salary and all salaries of professionals can be affected by different factors. The two most important factors that could affect the radiologist salary are level of experience and location of employment. In general, location of employment can affect income because there are states, which offer higher salaries when US national salary for radiologist is considered. Other states give lower salaries. In 2011, In New York, the radiologist salary could start from $41,217 to $360,276 while in Florida the annual income of radiologist could start from $35,235 to $298,999. In 2011, radiologists who are working in Texas can have an annual income of $30,304 to $228,077. In Illinois, radiologists were compensated with an annual income of $29,361 to $357,450. The yearly salary for radiologists who are employed in California in 2011 was $39,732 to $306,386 while those who are employed in Georgia could earn on average $29,590 to $365,236 per year. In North Carolina, radiologists were given $28,906 to $318,400 in 2011. The hourly salary of radiologists employed in Pennsylvania was $19.65 to $32.00. In Indiana, Louisiana and New Jersey, salaries given to radiologists were all competitive and were bit similar to the salary figures which were mentioned above in 2011.

Level of experience in terms of years of service rendered in the field of radiology can also affect the income that can be offered to radiologists. In general, novice radiologist earn much lower than those who have been working in the industry for more than 20 years.
